Libo, one of Asia's leading producers of high quality cosmetic and personal care packaging for the luxury and masstige markets, recently sponsored the Closest to the Pin competition as part of Revlon's 2013 charity golf tournament. Each year, Revlon holds the tournament to raise funds for initiatives related to breast cancer.
As Revlon’s manufacturing plant is located in Oxford, North Carolina in the USA and Rex Healthcare is next door in Raleigh, North Carolina, the two firms often cooperate to raise money for cancer research and on side projects designed to promote awareness among women. One such initiative is the Revlon mobile mammography unit, which has screened tens of thousands of women for breast cancer since hitting the road in 2001, and has helped save many lives by providing a tool for early detection.
As part of Libo's commitment to engaging actively in efforts to improve the quality of life for people around the world, the firm's chief golfing enthusiast Gina Lin once again participated in the event, as she has for some time. This year, however, she and Libo sponsored the Closest to the Pin event at the tournament, offering prizes to winners and raising more funds to donate to Revlon and Rex Healthcare's efforts.
In 2008, the most recent viable statistics available, breast cancer caused approximately 458,503 deaths worldwide (13.7% of cancer deaths in women). Libo's commitment to the cause seeks to help lower these figures as much as possible, by increasing worldwide awareness of the issue and getting funds into the hands of researchers and NPOs that can genuinely make a difference. |
